Italy's Most Important Charity Market Exhibition Returns to Milan from June 6-10

On June 6, Convivio returns to Milan as Italy's most significant charitable market exhibition promoted by the fashion industry in support of ANLAIDS (National Association for the Fight Against AIDS), now in its fourteenth edition. The event features 5 days of charitable shopping aimed at raising funds to continue addressing the critical issue of AIDS.

What is Convivio

Events like Convivio have helped reduce fear surrounding HIV, though vigilance remains essential. ANLAIDS Lombardy Section has been active for over 30 years, supporting research, prevention, and healthcare assistance. The virus still accounts for approximately 4,000 new infections annually across all social strata and age groups. Convivio, initiated in 1992 by Gianni Versace, Gianfranco Ferré, Giorgio Armani, and Valentino, represents more than a charity event - it embodies a legacy of solidarity, supported by Franca Sozzani and now by Emanuele Farneti with Vogue Italia.

New Location and Innovations

The fourteenth edition features significant updates, with support from over 200 prestigious brands spanning fashion, design, accessories, jewelry, cosmetics, tourism, and high-end gastronomy, offering products at 50% discount. The event relocates to The Mall Big Spaces near Porta Nuova, featuring a special 'Convivio & more' space designed by architect Massimiliano Locatelli/CLS, combining shopping with health and prevention seminars. Over 800 volunteers will staff the event, promoting individual and collective well-being initiatives.

Convivio 2018 expands its reach through digital platforms including Charitybuzz and Omaze, offering exclusive fashion and luxury experiences. The event supports ANLAIDS's comprehensive programs, from HIV/AIDS research at Milan's three university centers to psychological support for HIV-positive individuals and their families, youth prevention programs, and European Community initiatives. The 2018 campaign emphasizes 'CONVIVIO: THE ANTIVIRUS - Shopping that prevents AIDS,' highlighting how each purchase contributes to prevention efforts.
