"Botulinum toxin injections for aesthetic purposes, when administered by expert hands, cannot cause harm: to induce damage, we would need to use doses 1,500 times higher than those used for cosmetic purposes.
Clinical trials have been ongoing for an extended period with no reported adverse effects. While our Ministry has only approved its use for the glabellar area, between the eyebrows (for 'frown lines'), it effectively works in other facial areas: physicians must inform patients that such applications are under individual responsibility and not the botulinum manufacturer's liability.
The aesthetic efficacy is unquestionable: the medication works by blocking nerve impulse transmission to the muscle, which remains relaxed.
Botulinum toxin represents one of the most scientifically studied and validated aesthetic treatments, with a well-documented safety profile when administered by qualified professionals in appropriate doses. Treatment effects are temporary, typically lasting 3-6 months.
