Medical Mission in Ghana to Treat Children with Cleft Lip and Palate

Dr. Battista actively supports Operation Smile Italia Onlus Foundation, established in Italy since 2000 with over 100 volunteers including physicians, nursing staff, and healthcare workers, participating in medical missions worldwide and multispecialty care projects across Italy. The Foundation supports these programs through fundraising activities, private and corporate donations. The foundation's mission is to provide medical care to children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and palate, who would otherwise be unable to receive treatment.

Dr. Battista recently returned from Ghana, in the city of Ho, where she participated in an international medical mission alongside other Operation Smile volunteers. During the mission, the medical team provided corrective surgical procedures for children affected by facial malformations, significantly contributing to the improvement of their quality of life and future prospects.
